Thing 59
59. Renew my passport

I had an adventure trying to get my passport renewal in the mail. I called my post office and found out that they process passports and take photos, but I had to make an appointment. I made an appointment and arrived only to find that their camera was broken. They directed me to another post office. Their camera was also broken. They directed me to a CVS. And, you guessed it, their camera was also broken! I finally wound up in a small camera shop. Their camera wasn't broken, but the only guy who knew how to use the printer was out. I returned the next day and finally got my photo and application mailed in.
As of 2/1/22, my application's status was accepted and in progress. So all the hard work is done, it's just a wait of 6-8 weeks. Luckily, I have no plans to travel before my current passport expires in mid-February.
