Thing 86
86. Visit O Mansion
Today I went to the Mansion on O Street Museum with my Harry Potter group. We had a blast with the scavenger hunt, searching for items and secret doors and passageways. We STILL don't know where that teddy bear and cowboy are, and we came up about 40 secret doors short. But we has a whole lot of fun scouting around.
I heard about this place from one of my coworkers, who went there with her sister. Ever since she described it, I knew it was a place I wanted to visit. It's five townhouses strewn together and designed elaborately. Artists, writers, and musicians stay there and perform there; they also leave a lot behind--signed items, artwork, knick-knacks, books, etc. Everything is for sale (even the toilets) and nothing is quite what it seems to be.

The intrepid group of hunters!

The Mansion

The British room

As soon as I have $5,000, I'm totally buying this rhino tureen for my house.

Neat chandelier

One of two copies of the Highlander Watcher's Guide I found! My favorite fandom was represented!

Gah. Lord of the Rings movie poster signed by the cast. Someone buy this for me for Christimas, okay?

Harry Potter bookends!

Ready for tea!

Everyone keeps their wizard's chess sets in the bathroom, right?

Lighthouse bathroom

A pound puppy!!! My first real fandom! (I even wrote pound puppy fanfiction back before it was called fanfiction LOL)

Bob dylan guitar

James Patterson wrote about the log cabin room in this book

Flag from one of the buildings at Ground Zero, ripped off the flagpole during 9/11

Musicians performing. Also... kangaroo lady with her cactus!

Log cabin room bed and aquarium

The other Highlander the series Watcher's guide!

Most of the group in the secret wine cellar!
