13. March 2011 Project: Accio Books 2011

For the Harry Potter Alliance's Accio Books book drive in 2011, I personally donated 2,908 books and my chapter donated 5,003. We donated to more than a dozen charities, including the charter school in New York.

15. May 2011 Project: LMoM

For the Lusty Month of May this year I decided to make LEGO MOCs every single day. As it turns out, I ended up doing that AND writing a short story every day to go along with the MOCs. It was definitely the most challenging and ambitious thing I've done and I cut it close a number of times. But I managed to post one story & at least one photo (sometimes it was a series of photos as characters did different things).

And even though I've ben doing LMoM at pervy_werewolf for 7 years now straight (and haven't lost once) this is the first time I've ever won the popular vote in the poll. In fact, I won it by a landslide. I asked for the proceeds to be donated to the Harry Potter Alliance. I suspect Remus Lupin would have approved.

But I got awesome icons made especially for me as a reward:

16. June 2011 Project: Make a MOC for display at the Potomac Mills LEGO store

After some considerable debate and some suggestions from my DADA meetup group, I decided on Hogsmeade. I built most of the buildings from scratch (two buildings and the train are modified from existing sets) to create & populate the town. I've never made anything that's viewable 360 degrees and from the top. I think it turned out well.

39. Submit to 5 writing contests/journals

I submitted a short story to an online pagan publication on 2/27 and just got a rejection this week (5 months later). No worries!
