18. Lord of the Rings marathon

Over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, I decided just to pop in some Middle Earth movies and get this marathon crossed off my list. I rewatched all the extended editions as well as Ringers (for the first time) and started the first two episodes of Rings of Power. I've seen the LotR movies dozens of times, but it was magical to watch them again this time. It reminded me of how amazingly good the movies are, and perhaps that was partly because I watched them after watching the Hobbit movies. While there are still many things I don't like about the Hobbit movies, there were fewer parts I disliked this time around. In fact, I really liked them. But then watching the LotR trilogy just blew them away. What a wonderful weekend in Middle Earth! The next day, at work, I listened to the LotR soundtracks all day to make the feeling last a little longer.

Day 1:
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey
The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug
The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies
The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring

Day 2:
The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers
The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King
Ringers: Lord of the Fans

Day 3:
The Rings of Power: Episodes 1 & 2

18. Get 5 new Pawsport stamps

The San Antonio Build-a-Bear store was an Uber ride away from my hotel, so I just made it there and back between our board meeting and dinner one night to get stamp number 4.

I took Morgan Bear to Build-a-Bear on my way home today, and we got a pawsport stamp at the same store where he was born! This one was number 5!

It was a lot of fun making a point of visiting different stores. So far we have stamps from 9 different stores in 5 different states, including one from the one and only T-Rex Cafe in Disney Springs. It's been fun collecting them!

18. Get 5 new Pawsport stamps

I decided to take a few hours out of my day for a short visit to National Harbor. While there, we got Morgan Bear his first Maryland Build-a-Bear pawsport stamp. It's a stamp we didn't have before and specific to Maryland and in red! Pretty awesome. The store employee wanted to make sure there was room for lots more stamps, so she made a point to stamp near the top of the page. I appreciate that so much!

I went to Build-a-Bear in NYC and got a nice stamp there in black ink. The employee there decorated it a little as well.

18. Get 5 new Pawsport stamps

I went to the Pentagon City Build-a-Bear for the first time, and we got Morgan Bear's Pawsport stamped by an employee who had never stamped one before! So that was a fun moment for all of us!

18. Solve Puzzle Island book

I received Puzzle Island by Paul Adshead as a Christmas present in 1991. I never solved it, and that fact has been haunting me for 25 years. So I put this on my list to get myself to complete it. This time, I worked carefully through it, having trouble unscrambling animal names at times and having trouble finding animals at other times. I was in an elevator, staring at the book and for the first time in 25 years, I looked down and SUDDENLY saw the hidden animal!!!! I solved the rest of it anyway, and googled the final answer to find it on the world map. I have a great sense of accomplishment now, in finally solving this puzzle after so long.

I finished a few more pages this month:
7- Pour, spill, drip, spit, fling your coffee here
98-99- Make a mess. Clean it up.
104-105- Make prints using an ink pad and cut vegetables
147- This page is a sign. What do you want it to say?

Pages 104-105: Make prints using an ink pad and cut vegetables

I don't often have raw veggies around my place, but I had some leftover from the Thing where I made something in a crockpot and the Thing where I made something in a juicer. I used a throw-away dollar store inkpad, which got all wet and ruined by the veggies.
