8. Read the Jedi Apprentice series

I got my Jedi Apprentice books from my old out and brought them to my new house, even though my downstairs library isn't ready yet. I bought this whole series off eBay many years back (8? 9?) but I have even started reading them... until now!

I finished reading book #1 yesterday: Star Wars Jedi Apprentice, Book 1: The Rising Force by Dave Wolverton

55. Take a picture every day for 365 days

I signed up at the 365 Project and started uploading one photo a day. I always take photos of my birthday week, so it was easy enough to slip into the habit of daily photos. I hope I can keep it up for a whole year.

1. Watch every Academy Award best picture nominee from 2010 to 2015

127 Hours- I was sure I'd never watch this movie, once I was spoiled about it thanks to this LEGO moc (yes, I know it's a real story, but I'd not heard about it or what happened). I always give myself a pass with any movie I know will completely freak me out. But recently I saw a trailer for the movie and, actually, it looked like something I would like. And this month, I decided I actually felt like watching it. I bumped it up on my Blockbuster/Netflix queues. I just finished watching it. Holy shit. I'm glad I watched it. I really did love it. But a couple times I had to look away for a few seconds. And once I had to mute it and pause it and walk away because I was gagging and I'm an emetophobe and started freaking out. Yay for realistic movies! But, man, that's a movie I won't be watching twice. I really loved it. A good mix of everything--and it had all the introspection I was hoping for without being too heavy with it. Seriously, I loved it. It was beautiful and powerful and makes you look at things differently, the way any basic survival situation story would, but also in its own unique way. I appreciated every bit of it, even the parts that made me freak out a little (strangely, I had NO trouble with any of the really harsh visuals or blood at the end... which is the scene I thought would be the worst, which just goes to show the sort of desperation I felt at that point in the story--EXCELLENT story telling). I did cry a lot during the rescue scene and all the way through the ending credits. Great movie. I'm glad I made myself watch it finally.

12. Get to 10,000 books released on BookCrossing

I released a lot of books at the Kensington Day of the Book festival this month (and Gaithersburg is next month). I've also released a few books outside of the book festival. Maybe it's finally the start of me getting back in the habit of wild releasing often? I can only hope!

Anyway, I'm going to officially say that controlled releases count toward my 10,000. I released 301 books in April (darn it! I forgot to control release one, so it SHOULD be 302, but oh well. I'm not going to regret it too much). 301 isn't bad for one month! I'm hoping for just as many if not more next month (and it's possible I'll do a few more this weekend when I'm in DC, but I'll just count those toward May's total).

Progress: 8,221 / 10,000

EDIT on 4/28/13: I released one more in April! So...
Progress: 8,222 / 10,000

98. Host a meme on my LJ every year during April

April 2013 produced TWO memes! I couldn't decide whether to do an all-fandom one or an SPN-only one, so I ended up doing two memes (as you do). And they produced dozens of wonderful fics. I can't think of a better way to spend my birth month than to enjoy my favorite types of stories with other people who love those stories. And I wrote ten stories. Yay!

One April down... a few Aprils to go!
