8. Read the Jedi Apprentice series

Special Edition 2

The Followers: http://katekintailbc.livejournal.com/183926.html

The final book in the series was a mix of excitement and darkness. The central plot revolved around the Sith. Once again, the book spanned two time periods. In the first, the Sith are just a thing of legend, capable of inspiring people to do evil in their name. Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon must stop this. And in the second part of the book, Anakin and Obi-Wan know that the Sith are back and a danger. They will stop at nothing to retrieve something that will give them power. It was interesting to see their desperation and need to have this item, as it brought out traits we don't usually see in Jedi. And we get to see shades of what will happen to Ani in the future... though we also get to see his humanity, which was nice. And, of course, I loved more time with Obi-Wan as both an apprentice and then a master.

A great series. It definitely had its moments I didn't care for. But it gave me more to think about, as far as the character go. And it was nice to spend more time with my favorite Jedi :-)

5. Read 25 books off the FCPS shelves at the library

I read The Journey That Saved Curious George: The True Wartime Escape of Margret and H.A. Rey by Louise Borden, because I loved the Curious George books when I was a kid and this looked like a good book. The author pieced together the journey of the two authors as they start to create their books and then find themselves on the run during World War II. It's a great story of how they saved their children's book manuscripts and how their manuscripts ended up saving them and getting them to safety. I'm grateful they escaped and could bring so many wonderful stories to this world.

21. For one year, release themed books on every big holiday

Soooooo... I forgot about Canada Day. I had the book set aside. I even acknowledged the day because [livejournal.com profile] 6of8 sent an adorable picture my way. But for some reason I thought my next release was July 4th. Oops! So I release this one two days late. But I still released it. And, well, Canada Day isn't exactly celebrated here in the US. So I think I'm giving myself a pass here.

I didn't forget July 4th, and I had the perfect book set aside for it.I took this photo then I walked up to the counter, put the book down, and walked away with probably about 10 people there watching me. I'm getting bold with my book releases these days. heehee!
