40. Use my juicer
I found this Mandarin recipe online. I happened to have some mandarin oranges at home, so I picked up the other fruit/vegetables at the store. Then I washed my juicer and read through the whole instruction manual. I wasn't sure about peeling the carrots or kiwi fruit first, so I did some Googling to find out that I didn't need to do either, but some people liked it better with the kiwi skinned.
It was loud and a little scary, using the juicer. I had cut the ingredients into smaller pieces, many of which bounced back up at me as I put them in, so I had to keep covering the opening at the top. I kept worrying that the juice would be too much for the cup, but it came out perfectly in the end.
I put it in the fridge to make it cold. Then I stirred it up before drinking it. The juice was okay, but it tasted a little weird... making my mouth itch slightly. I don't think I'm allergic to kiwi fruit, but maybe the concentrated juice was too much all at once? Also, it tasted strongly of kiwi and celery together, which was very strange. Also, the carrots were a little overpowering. I could taste a little of the mandarin, but it was my favorite of all three tastes and I could barely taste it in relation to the others. Maybe I should have just made a mandarin juice drink? LOL
Also, the cleanup was terrible and took a lot longer than the actual juicing. Seemed like a lot of fruit & veggies I wasted in the pulp when I threw that out. Might have been better to just eat them raw. LOL But it was nice knowing I was drinking healthy juice along with my dinner.
I'm glad I did it, just not sure it was worth the trouble for this particular juice.
