1. Build a fort out of pillows & blankets
I build a fort in my living room and it turned out even better than I had imagined. The biggest problem is now that I don't want to leave it! The structure was made using several Quidditch goal posts, a coat rack, and the top story of my house. The sides were made using three couches and a dozen sheets held together with string, clothes pins, and safety pins. The lights are blue and white snowflake light strings. And the floor is a sea of blankets and pillows. It is beyond comfy and big enough to stand up in.
My expert in all things blankets is
cowboyguy, and she came over to help me build. I'm so glad she did, because the fort I had envisioned was much smaller and she persuaded me to take advantage of the height my loft affords me. She also insisted on a door, which is one of my favorite features. We worked hard on it for hours, then enjoyed it through a few episodes of Supernatural where we were distracted from our NaNo writing both by brothers arguing on screen and sister kitties snuggling up to us on the blankets in the tent.
I'm so thrilled with how it turned out! I never want to take it down! heehee :-)
