50. Have a Ewan McGregor movie marathon weekend

I took advantage of the long weekend, the first in which I haven't had any set plans, to have a Ewan marathon. I managed to get through a few of my favorites of Ewan (Angels & Demons, Down with Love, Moulin Rouge), three I hadn't ever seen (August: Osage County, Polar Bears, Mortdecai), and a few I've not seen in a long time (Brassed Off, Little Voice, ER, Shallow Grave). I also decided to go alphabetically. There wasn't enough time to make it through every letter of the alphabet, though! It was a weekend of laughter, tears, singing, and a lovely Scottish accent.

78. Make a cleaning schedule

After a lot of trial and error, I've settled on another strategy. I made a list of seven categories of cleaning (vacuum, scrub, dust, etc.) and every week I'll decide (based on my workload that week) what to assign to each day. Then, each day, I do one thing that fits into the category. If I miss doing it on a day for whatever reason, I must complete that task the next day along with the assigned task for that day (that could easily build up dangerously, so it keeps me on top of things).

I created a calendar on my wall for this, complete with reward stickers. heehee!

53. Watch the rest of the First Doctor’s episodes

It's taken me a LONG time to make it through these episodes. I started years ago when I still had Blockbuster Online and was mailing discs back and forth. This month, I finally finished all the episodes I'd missed and the ones I hadn't yet gotten to. There were so many interesting moments I'm glad to have finally seen. New companions (I may have teared up when Barbara and Chesterton left), hilarious moments (the doctor hiding inside an empty Dalek!), plenty of interesting bad guys (the monk, the toy maker, cybermen for the first time!), and lots of adventures through time and space. There were definitely some stories I enjoyed more than others, but I'm definitely glad to have watched them all! The first doctor was quite a character. He had a good balance of wisdom and humor, but I got a little tired of his insults and belittling; it's no wonder he went through so many companions. Sometimes his laugh annoyed me, other times it amused me. But I especially liked his relationship with Susan; he was so believably protective of her. I also liked Steven and Dodo; I wish Dodo had lasted a little longer.
