31. Host a crafting & watching Harry Potter drop-in weekend with DADA

This weekend, I hosted a fun weekend of Harry Potter movies for the HP group I'm an assistant organizer for, Defense Against the Dark Arts here in Northern VA. It was fun and exhausting. I spent all week cleaning and getting ready, but it was so worth it! It was a fun time seeing friends and getting to share the Harry Potter movies with them. We had some great conversation--some about the movies and some not. We got a lot of craft projects worked on as well. I did some "old school Pinterest" with my Real Simple magazines from the past 10 years, and many people had knitting projects, among others. It was a casual event, where people could come and go as they wanted, and I had more than a dozen people show.

I'd never marathoned all 8 movies all at once, so it was wonderful watching them on Blu-ray with friends and noticing things I'd never seen before... like the fact that Siegfried from All Creatures Great and Small is the Minister of Magic! That kind of made me freak out :-)

It was a LONG weekend, but so much fun!

I'm having kind of a Harry Potter week, watching one movie each day. That's the next best thing. I'm sure it would have been fun to be at your party.
