66. Rewatch all of From the Earth to the Moon
In college, one of my boyfriends introduced me to this series. When there was a good deal on the collector's edition set years ago, I snagged my own copy but had never watched it. I came across a few episodes on TV a few years back and thought I should put rewatching this series on my list, as my set was still in its plastic wrap, sad and lonely.
I started watching this Sunday while registering books and got through the first three discs. Last night I made it through the fourth disc. It was wonderful and emotional making it through this series again. I loved reliving some of my favorite moments, the ones that capture such wonder and raw human emotion. The fire in Apollo 1 still scared the crap out of me. And that geology episode is still my favorite, because science!

It was definitely a pleasure to go through this series again. What a beautiful piece of art, capturing this bit of science and history and exploration from so many different angles and points of view. I'd forgotten that the last episode had so many interviews with the actual people involved, which was great to see having just marathoned their dramatized stories. Space is still a place I will NEVER EVER want to go (I happen to like air, and there isn't any of that up there), but it was a great adventure experiencing in a way through this series.
