54. Watch every nominated movie from the Academy Awards (excluding foreign film) from 2007-2009
I've seen a couple more movies...
Persepolis- LOVED this! Had a fantastic look & feel to it. I watched it dubbed into English and then I watched portions in the original French. And then I watched all the extras. I really want to read the graphic novel now. I liked the movie adaptations and choices, but I especially loved the subject matter. It was a fantastic look at one person's experiences in that world and culture. She was incredibly realistic and easy to sympathize with. And it was fascinating to watch- I couldn't look away!
Venus- Interesting! I was sort of surprised to like it- not love it by any means, but I didn't hate it. It was one of those movies that felt WAY too real... and by that I mean very little happened and people were terribly creepy/disturbing. It was like watching actual people interact with each other (and hurt each other). I was rather sad at the end, but it ended perfectly.
