I watched the Beginners tonight, which reminded me about this thing. I watched The Help last week and loved it.

From what I've read, I suspect you're not missing anything if you haven't seen "Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close" or "The Tree of Life." (See above link.) And I don't know that I could watch "127 Hours" considering the plot. I'm afraid I'd be screaming. But I did make it through "Black Swan."

I have "The Hurt Locker" and "District 9" if you'd like loan of them. I think you'll love "District 9."

If you'd like to see "Winter's Bone," I have been saving it to watch on Netflix streaming. That's how I watched "Precious" which was good because like with "The Hurt Locker" I needed some emotional time-outs while watching.

I'm reading The Submission right now, so I feel like I'm in a good post-9-11 mindset to watch Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close. The one I am most worries about is 127 Hours. I might give myself a pass on that one the way I did with United 93 and another a few years back that was your standard "bad things happen to people in a submarine" movie.

I started watching District 9 once on Netflix streaming and made it through the first minute and a half then started nodding off because I was EXHAUSTED and it was the wrong time to watch a movie. Good to know that Precious is on Netflix streaming! I didn't realize it was. Yay! I just finished watching all of Jekyll that way and I'm kind of in the mood for movies over shows right now.

Um, wow. Only one of my movies left to watch on that list (Winter's Bone) is available on Netflix streaming now. Phooey! I would love to borrow The Hurt Locker and District 9 from you at some point!

Wow, I was getting so excited because I was going to tell you that I have Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close at my house at this very moment from Netflix, but no, it turns out I have Everything is Illuminated instead. Whoops. Same author, though. Dang.
