3. Make a list of every DVD I own and haven’t yet watched

I spent an hour and a half or so watching Zathura while typing up this list on my laptop and then putting it in Google Docs. This is the list of DVDs I own that I have never watched. I've made two columns--one column to mark those that I've seen in other ways (in the theater, on TV, via a rental/netflix) but I haven't watched the DVD I bought, and one column to mark those that I have never watched at all. I tend to buy things I've seen and love just to own it so I can watch it any time I like... but "any time" hasn't happened for these babies yet!

Assuming I haven't left any off, that's a total of 169. And, just a note, if I watch even one episode off a DVD season set, it counts, because that means I took off the shrinkwrap and watched it. So, yeah, I have a ways to go. Thank you, 6of8, for recommending my thing be just listing them and not actually watching them. That really will take some time!

Here's my list: http://dft.ba/-DVDsKateHasntWatched

I have a notebook where I cataloged every dvd I have because I got tired of looking for a particular dvd when I wanted to watch it, and I knew I had it, but didn't know where. I can't say I've watched every single dvd I have(like you picked up movie because somewhere in my future I'd be watching it), But there are some that are an immediate go to when I feel like watching something. Sixteen Candles is at the top of that list. I keep that one in an accessible place in my collection. :) Also I recently counted how many dvd's I have.. and it numbers over 300 probably almost 400. Wow.. your list is even in alphabetical order. My list is just in order of where they're stored.

Oh, sorry. I must not have been clear in my rambling. This isn't the list of all my DVDs--it's just the ones I haven't watched yet. I keep a full multimedia library catalog using Media Man software; that's where I keep track of what DVDs, books, Eeyores, CDs, graphic novels/comics, and more I own and where they might be. According to Media Man, I have 352 DVDs, but I might have missed some of my more recent acquisitions. I'll have to do a proper audit some time.

This is just the list one DVDs I own but haven't ever watched the copy I own. And the only reason it's alphabetized is that I sorted the list after typing it up. I did mostly alphabetize my collection when I moved into the new place, but there are some DVDs (the big fandom ones like HP, LotR, superheros, etc.) that are in separate cabinets to go with items I have for the fandoms.

I totally hear what you're saying about DVDs you go back to over and over--I've seen some of my "feel good" DVDs dozens of times easily while these 160+ are still unwatched.

Oh I figured you probably have more dvd's than what's on your list. :) and for some dvd's within my collection they are separated by actor, or tv series, or movies that are part of a trilogy or bigger. It's just finding time to watch any or all of it!
