51. Create a T-shirt quilt
I spent quite a lot of time finding the places where I'd safely stashed my old shirts. Then I had to decide which of those to make into the blanket. I got a great deal during Black Friday weekend at Project Repat. Then I went back to deciding which shirts to use; that was the hardest part. I cut off the sides I didn't want used and then took a photo of them the way I wanted them arranged. I took photos of the shirts as well, just in case they didn't make it through the mail, so I'd have some memory of what they had looked like. I was so nervous sending them off. It's quite a selection, from when I was in 3rd grade or so through college. It's so many years of my life. And the shirts were of various thicknesses and sizes. I couldn't imagine that it would make a great blanket. But I sent the shirts away and just got the finished product back today.
IT IS AMAZING! It's beyond what I could have hoped for. Project Repat did such a great job with it. The shirts are cut nicely and, with the backing, it's sturdy and warm and fun. I love it so very much! I am SO GLAD I made this one of my things and finally got it done!

First row (top row) from left to right: Girl Scout Olympics, Girl Scout troop (brownies), Girl Scout troop (juniors), elementary school
Second row from left to right: Middle school band, high school PE uniform, high school drama production, high school Odyssey of the Mind state competition
Third row from left to right: Camp Lotus (India camp, the year the theme was India's geography), regional science fair (the year we went to international), hospital candy striper uniform, science fair (the year we started the project)
Fourth row from left to right: Highlander convention (my first con), AIDS Walk Washington (volunteer, white), Spring Break trip to Florida (Ron Jon Surf Shop), Grace Hopper Women in Computing Conference (in Cape Cod, MA)
Fifth row (bottom row) from left to right: Association for Women in Computing (CS@VT), Hokies Gator Bowl, Women in Computing Day, AIDS Walk Washinton (volunteer, blue)
I accidentally switched the science fair shirts, but otherwise they're all in chronological order. It was so hard to cut the shirts up or send them away, not sure what the final product would look like, but now I'm so thrilled to have parts of my past as something I can use and appreciate all the time instead of having them sit in a box somewhere where I will never see them.

I have a friend who makes t-shirt quilts for her son & grandsons regularly :-) A few of my shirts had pocket-sized designs on the fronts and I cut those out and kept them; I'm thinking they might make a nice small pillow to go with the blanket. But that might have to be part of next time's 101 list! heehee
