30. Open a goodreads or librarything account

I signed up for GoodReads, played around a little, and rated something like 150 books. But it still tells me I can't get any recommendations because I haven't rated any. And the book list widget uses javascript, so I don't think I'll be able to put it on my blog. So I don't know that I'll ever really use this account for anything. But there it is. If anyone has any suggestions for what GoodReads is best for (apart from reviews), let me know.

I also signed up for a LibraryThing account, finally. I imported a version of my book collection circa 2013, so it's a bit old. But it will be quicker to start from that list of 600-something than to start from scratch. I ended up paying the $25 to upgrade the account, and I friended some of my friends. But I haven't really done much exploring on there to see what's possible. I don't expect to be very active there (i just don't have time in my life for another forum to stalk), but I might cross-post my reviews there, just so I have them in multiple places. Looks like a cool enough place.

I use Goodreads for their reading challenge. I've done it for the past two years, and I like being able to keep track of how much I've read.

I do the reading challenge too. Plus when I post a review of a book that I haven't registered yet on BC, I have something I can copy and paste when I get around to registering. And I browse book suggestions when I am bored at work.
